12-14-10 Period 8
Today we found out we have a test next tuesday! We will be getting a study guide later on today. We also went over cells. We went over Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic Cells. Animal cells only have (here are a few): Neculeus, Golgi Aparatis, Vaculous, Neculous, Cytoskelton. Next we talked about a plant cell! The Animal cells do not have a Cell Walls or Cloroplasts, Large central vacule. Next we talked about bacteria! (Prokarotic cell). Plant (Eukaryotic) cells do not have flagella, but Aniaml (Prokarotic) Cells can have them. Some things bacteria have and plant and animal cells dont have: Capstole, DNA, and Pilla. We also talked about a Euglena, it is Eukaryotic Cell. Euglena is a orgism, it is the ONLY animal cell that has Cloroplasts.Euglena can make it own food and eat other foods. This orgisms is a animal cell with plant cell charastics. Here are the exact pictures we look at today but with labels:

What is the difference between a regular vacuole and the vacuole in the Euglena?

do all the bacteria cells have the little hairs sticking out of it?

ReplyDeleteMaria, not all cells have the little hairs. Bacteria cells sometimes have pili to grab things. Animal cells sometimes have hair like things called cilia to move.

Talya, the vacuole in the Euglena is for removing excess water. A vacuole on an animal or plant cell is for many things like getting rid of harmful materials, containing waste products, and containing water in a plant cell.

I know that cilia helps an animal cell to move, but can an animal have cilia and not be able to move, or have trouble moving around??
ReplyDeleteThat was by Rachel R.
ReplyDeleteI think that an animal can have cilia but i dont think that it has a hard time moving around because cilia elps it move around easier
ReplyDeletesorry i forgot to write my name that was by Simrin
